Why AI tracks struggle

Streaming platforms and curators now treat fully AI tracks differently. Here is what they do, as of October 2026.

Tidal

Since July 15, 2026

Fully AI tracks earn no royalties and no direct sales, and carry an AI badge. Tracks impersonating a real artist are removed.

Deezer

Since June 2025

AI tracks are detected and tagged, then removed from algorithmic recommendations and editorial playlists. Listeners get a filter to hide AI by the end of 2026.

Spotify

Since September 2026

No ban, but AI artist profiles carry an "AI Persona" label and are excluded from recommendations. Cloned voices are removed.

Playlist curators

On submission platforms

Many curators and submission platforms refuse AI tracks.

To be clear

The composition remains AI-generated: we change the performance, not the origin of the song. Some platforms, like Tidal, ask you to declare AI use, and we recommend you do.

Platform rules as of October 2026. They change often.
